Posted by Jenn F. on Monday, December 3rd, 2018
The Center for Podiatric Care and Sports Medicine was founded by Dr. Josef Geldwert, DPM in 1990. Since then, we’ve built a team of the best podiatrists in NYC and we’re always happy to welcome even more talented professionals to our practice. This year, we’re pleased to welcome a new Doctor of Podiatric Medicine to our practice: Dr. Vera Malezhik.
Dr. Malezhik’s Credentials
Dr. Vera Malezhik comes to highly credentialed with a doctorate degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and a four-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Mount Sinai, where she served as Chief Resident and continues to be an affiliate. She is a member in good standing with the American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Malezhik’s Specialties
Complex trauma, bunions, hammer toes, warts, heel pain, and diabetic foot care are other areas of specialization for Dr. Malezhik. She has extensive training in foot surgery, including complex reconstructive procedures and cosmetic foot surgery, and she is certified in ankle arthroscopy. Within the last few years, she has published academic papers in The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery regarding lateral malleolus fracture stabilization, rare mantle cell lymphoma, and desyndactylization of toes through external fixation.
Dr. Malezhik’s Bedside Manner
Informed patients choose podiatrists based on credentials, experience, and physical location. Yet, they continue to see podiatrists or opt to go elsewhere based on personality and what is commonly referred to as “bedside manner.” One of the unique traits of Dr. Malezhik is that she serves New York’s Russian population with fluency in both English and Russian.
She also wins when it comes to working with athletes as she is a former collegiate tennis player. You can be sure she understands your desire to get back to the court with minimal recovery time and impact on performance.
Don’t just take our word for it. See what some of Dr. Malezhik’s patients are saying about her expert care:
