MLS Laser Therapy: Foot Conditions That We Treat

When foot injuries interrupt your quality of life, our goal at The Center for Podiatric Care and Sports Medicine in New York City is to get you back on your feet and resuming regular activities as quickly as possible. In recent years, the power of MLS Laser therapy has been demonstrated and FDA-approved for healing a number of painful foot conditions. We are pleased to offer you the latest technology, just as professional athletes use, to get back into the game.
What Is The MLS Laser?
MLS Laser Therapy directs pulsating photons of light energy into the injured tissues to prompt faster healing, take down inflammation and reduce pain. The laser works on cells, ligaments, muscles and soft tissue alike. Unlike most medications and surgical interventions, there are no known side effects to this safe foot treatment.
An eight-minute treatment is all it takes for people to begin to experience relief, but you may need multiple treatments to achieve the full benefit of this technology. The MLS Laser has been FDA-approved “for the purpose of elevating tissue temperature for temporary relief of muscle and joint pain and stiffness, arthritis pain, or muscle spasm, the temporary increase in local blood circulation and/or promoting relaxation of muscle.”
Since the debut of the MLS Laser pain treatment, people have been singing its praises. According to a Runner’s World editorial, four months of taking it easy decreased acute pain for the writer, “but it was the laser treatment that gave immediate, near-total relief, and that got me running again.”
What Foot Injuries Can The MLS Laser Treat?
- Tendon & Ligament Injuries
- Soft Tissue Injuries
- Muscle Tears
- Sore Muscles & Joints
- Arthritis & Bursitis Pain
- Plantar Fasciitis / Heel Pain
- Post-Surgical Swelling
- Sports Injuries
- Occupational Injuries
- Repetitive Motion Injuries
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Arch Pain
- Diabetic Ulcers
What Can Be Expected After Treatment?
Most patients feel little more than slight warmth during MLS Laser therapy. While most people experience a high level of acute pain relief after the first or second treatment, over 90% of patients report positive results after the third treatment. Once the swelling goes down, pain relief tends to progress rapidly. Perhaps the only downside of this treatment is that most insurance policies will not cover the procedure, so you may wind up paying $75 to $125 per session, out of pocket. If you are interested in the benefits MLS Laser therapy has to offer, our NYC podiatrist office would be happy to work out a payment arrangement that is convenient for you.
