If you follow tennis, you probably know of 18-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer, but do you know the top South Korean tennis player, Hyeon Chung? At just 21 years of age, he won the ATP Next Gen Finals in Milan this past November. Then, he came out of nowhere to beat Novak Djokovic at Melbourne Park. Unfortunately, it seems Chung’s good luck couldn’t last. Two days after losing to Federer in the Australian Open, Chung wound up in the hospital with gruesome calluses and blister injuries.
Are your scratchy, dry feet sticking to your blankets at night? Does that red corn on your toe poke out awkwardly from your sandal strap? Do your nails look so dull and lifeless that their only hope is a new coat of nail polish? These are common complaints for summer feet, when people are starting to spend more time at the beach, the pool and roaming the town in sandals. Here are five simple ways to make your feet look prettier today. Of course, you can also stop by our NYC podiatric care office to see how we can use the latest technology to improve your satisfaction level.
Feet endure a lot of wear and tear over the course of a day. Corns and calluses are two of the more common foot problems seen. About 19% of the U.S. population has 1.4 foot problems each year, with 5% of the population enduring corns and calluses, reports the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association. A podiatrist will treat corns and calluses 82% of the time, with a small percentage of people speaking with a primary care physician about the matter.
“I am so grateful for having had Dr. Geldwert perform bunion surgery on both of my feet. I have complete confidence in him and continue to see him for other sports related injuries. I was cautious about having surgery for the first time, but his knowledge, patience, and skill made me completely comfortable in trusting him. And I couldn’t be any happier with the results!! When anything else feels wrong with my feet, I love that I now know to go immediately to him. He is my top choice for anyone searching for the best foot fixer/surgeon/sports doctor in NYC! Thank you, Dr. Geldwert!!!”
