Who We Are

Our founder, Dr. Josef J. Geldwert, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon with nearly 40 years of experience. He regularly treats sports injuries like turf toe, Achilles pain, heel pain, tendon ruptures, fractures, sprains, nerve pain, and metatarsal fractures.

He has worked with professional organizations such as the:

  • New York Road Runners Club
  • Central Park Track Club
  • NY Lizards
  • NY Liberty
  • NY Magic

Dr. Geldwert has treated Olympic athletes and celebrities like Dustin Hoffman. But as a father of five young athletes, he truly understands what it’s like to live in a sporty family and takes great satisfaction in treating aspiring stars who have not yet made names for themselves.

Dr. Geldwert told Westchester Magazine, “Dealing with high school athletes is the most gratifying. It just provides you so much satisfaction to help them get back in the game. For us, it’s fulfilling to help them reach their dreams.”

Dr. Geldwert is joined by two other board-certified orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Ryan Minara, and Dr. Katherine Lai. Dr. Minara specializes in complex foot trauma and conditions causing chronic pain while Dr. Lai caters to patients who prefer more holistic, natural modes of healing.
